I am a believer who is impressed with the teachings of John Nelson Darby and have been endeavoring to practice separation from the world.

I would like to get in touch with the Exclusive Brethren and learn more about these teachings and the recovery of the truth.

Are there any meeting rooms close to Cleveland, OH? I would at least like to have some fellowship with someone. Thank you.

Brother James Harrison.

Dear James,
Welcome to 'My Brethren'! We share your appreciation of JND's ministry and your concern to "practice separation from the world".

Regarding "the recovery of the truth" and "fellowship", to start with, I believe a conversation would be helpful. If you will send your phone no. and some convenient days/time for you I'll be most happy to call you.

You may be interested to know that we live in Markham, Ontario, adjacent to Toronto and, in past years, were often in Cleveland.

Looking forward to speaking with you, In our Lord Jesus, Gordon Rainbow.

Dear James,
Not having heard from you I send the following address which, I believe, touches on your exercises.

Perhaps you have been busy -- or perhaps you thought I was putting you off by suggesting a phone call -- I hope not.

In our Lord Jesus, Gordon.

Dear Rod, Welcome to 'My Brethren'. Glad you discovered MB and thanks for sharing your background, much of which I share and mourn over.

It's of great interest to know that you still value the truth which has come to us and are sharing it with others.

Of course, we''ll be glad to hear from you at any time.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Rainbow,
We very much enjoyed our visit with you on June 4th. We had a safe trip home.

Since we came home I have introduced the rest of my family to the website and all of them were very fascinated with it as well.

I hope this finds you both well. All my family sends their love.

Love in our Lord Jesus, Colin Procter.

Dear Colin,
We too enjoyed the visit immensely -- it was good to be with 'family' again!

Glad you are promoting MB and also to be reminded of those we have had earlier contact with.

Hope you will be able to send a jpeg of the photo taken while here.

Some of the recent ministry additions by Mr. Marsh may be helpful to you.

The time will come when I won't be able -- or be here -- to help on MB. Perhaps your interest will enable you to be a help at that time.

Our love in Christ to Timothy and Anne, Stephanie and Jonathan, and of course to yourself, also to those you mentioned and to the Widtfeldts.

Affectionately in our Lord Jesus, Gordon and Betty.

Sirs, I trust you may be able to assist or point me to a source if indeed there is one.

I am looking to purchase the JND “New Translation” in electronic form with the footnotes and accordingly seek a price and availability.

One uses the KBT CD containing the JND and AV versions, along with the ministry of JT and others, yet, bearing in mind that the footnotes are close to Scripture in authority, hope to use the footnotes in conjunction with a word and phrase search.

If you aware of any work done or being done with respect to the footnotes I would appreciate receiving the information. I put the question to KBT as well.

The option to scan them myself is always there but seems a daunting task!

Faithfully in Christ, ——.

Dear ——,
Not sure where you can purchase an electronic version with footnotes. The Olive Tree mobile device version doesn't have them, either.

However, a free version (1961 edition) is republished with footnotes here http://www.biblestudytools.com/dby/.

At least, this will help you avoid scanning them yourself... Daunting indeed!

Dear Brother,
My wife and I are with an assembly presently not connected with any others which is "so-called exclusive" but having separated not due to doctrine from other fellowships, but due to continuing unjudged personality conflicts which for years have been swept under the carpet and left to fester.

I came upon My Brethren yesterday (8/11/2010) and have been enjoying perusing it.

Thank you in advance for your response.

In Christ, Terry W. Tresise.

Dear Terry,
Welcome to My Brethren -- glad you are enjoying it -- and thanks for sharing some personal background.

After my conversion, from 1946-20 I met with an 'open' group of 'Grant' background, and so am somewhat familiar with the books of Mr. Grant, Samuel Ridout and A. E. Booth.

The "Jims" is a term, often used by others, to refer to those who continued to follow "Jim" Taylor Jr. (d. 1971) and his legal teachings after the divisions of 1959-60 and 1970.

We will be glad to hear further from you at any time. In our Lord Jesus, Gordon Rainbow.

Dear Mr Rainbow,
Is it possible for you to confirm biographical detail of hymn writer, John Beaumont 'Our shepherd is the Lord'. Stainer & Bell's hymn database 'HymnQuest' lists him as early 17th century.

Many thanks, John Greenhalgh.

To: John Greenhalgh,

Dear John,
Welcome to My Brethren. Sorry for long delay in replying to your inquiry -- besides other problems my internet service has not been working lately.

The only information I have, and been able to find, is at "History: Hymn Book 3: Authors" as follows

"* Beaumont, J. [1881] 310 "Linked with brethren with J.N.D., and spoke at the grave at the burial of G. V. Wigram in 1879", per Andrew & Lois Robertson.

and -- "Biography: GVW"
Word: Mr. J. Beaumont.[* Author of No. 310 in the 1973 hymn book]
He read a few verses from the New Testament concluding with the closing verses of Revelation."

Hope this, though delayed, is of some help.

In the Lord, Gordon Rainbow.

Dear Gordon, Beloved brother,
I have on two occasions sent emails via your guest site service, the first was auto acknowledged, but no follow up been received nor any posting on your site. The second was unable to be transmitted some error or email route could not be found.

My email address is arthur.hamilton42ATbtinternet.com and I live in Gloucester, Gloucs. England GL2 0XU. Born in Falkirk (1942),Scotland, and been with the brethren in Banbury/Bicester England till 1970

Also recently met with Marcus Chapman,Mark Lemon, and David Burr at fellowship meetings Defford( where Philip Haddad's widow (94y.o) can be met and at London.

I do hope this reaches you this time as I have other information available on F. W.Trussler (Ministry) and Joseph Pellat - Historical Dates and family members.

With much love in the Lord, Arthur.

Dear Arthur,
Thank you for contacting us again. We have had to temporarily move rooms here at Bethany Manor which resulted in loss of internet service for some time. This is not an excuse for not answering but a possible explanation.

Correspondence with brethren, such as yourself, and additional information is both welcome and important to us. Your personal details are of great interest as well as your contacts with Marcus and others -- something we have very little of in these parts.

With love in our Lord Jesus, Gordon.

I am trying to locate a copy of the 'Javelin of Phinehas' by W. Lincoln any format, also Newberry book on Revelation. Do you scan old books? I have a few.

Thanks, Peter.

Dear Peter,
Thanks for your message. I am not sure if Gordon has a copy of these or not [No].

I was able to locate a free electronic copy of Revelation by Newberry at this location: http://www.archive.org/details/notesonbookofrev00newb. But you may have already found this.

Yes, we have scanned very rare books in the past for posting, if you would like to share a list of items you'd be willing to part with (for a while, that is, we wouldn't necessarily need to keep them forever) we'd be happy to take a look.
