I left the "Exclusives" in Coventry in 1974, my name was then Elizabeth (Lily) Dore but have since married Alan Harvey who left EB's in 1970 in Ealing, London.

I have a son Berwyn Dore and family still in the Coventry EB's; their eldest daughter Cherie married Paul Hamilton of Belfast.
I also have a daughter Elizabeth who is married to Stephen Hibbert of Luton.
If anybody has any information relating to these families I would be very grateful to hear.
We attend OB's in Coventry.

Hi Gordon,
I really appreciate your site. I have been a Christian for around 11 years.

I have been out of fellowship with any assembly for about 1 1/2 years. I am not able to attend any assembly which abides to New Testament practice as there are none in my area.
This past year I have felt that the Lord would have me separate myself from anything that would draw me away from Him.
I have been greatly blessed in the past year by Brethren writters such as J.N.D. and C. H. Mackintosh, and have purchased some of their writings.
Often times it sure seems like a lonely walk, but the alternative to return to "evangelical" assemblies is not acceptable.

Was in the brethren meeting in Frodsham street, Chester, as a child with my parents and sisters until I was 16 in 1960,

when I left because my Father was put out of fellowship because he disagreed with the sytem that was emerging.
I left because the scripture told me to honour my parents.

I long for the return of our Saviour because of the deep fellowship we will have with him and out fellow saints.

We offer praise and thanksgiving to God for leading us to Gordon Rainbow and his 'My Brethren' web site.

Brother Gordon's dedication to our Lord and ongoing ministry has been a source of edification and encouragement to many a weary and isolated brother … ourselves included!

Our family of four recently broke fellowship with a new testament home assembly due to unscriptural practices.

It's been a very difficult road for us, but our gracious Lord has not left us completely void of fellowship …
"Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me … and the Lord shall deliever me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom …", 2 Tim. 4: 17-18.

Hi there this is from me again.

I don't know what level of getting over this I am at the moment but I feel real low and would like someone to wave a magic wand and take me and the pain away, I know that will never happen because I have to get over it myself.

My husband does not seem to feel like I do, he has left family behind also. He says men are made different, but that does not make it any easier for me.
I get told things like just ignore it and it will go away. I have been trying that for 3 yrs and it still hurts as much.
I had depression in 97/98 but do not feel anything like that though.
The kids are fine and get on like nothing happened for which I am thankful.

Thanks for your site. We are relatively young Christians who assemble with those known as brethren.

The history on this subject is really great and I must admit that I too didn't know the distinction between the Lord's table and the Lord's supper.

It just goes to show how much truth is just glossed over and not taught.
