I have recently left the Exclusive Brethren along with my husband and four children. And am slowly coming to terms with it all, we are not out of the woods yet. We left in 7/96.

Nigel & Rosanne Herbert
Greetings. Seeking to call on the name of the Lord Jesus out of a pure heart, walking in all separation with other like minded indiviudals. Much enjoyed currently amongst those we walk with relating to God's vast and eternal thoughts for us "The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former", whilst awaiting the coming of our Lord and Saviour.
Left the system in August 1970 with my parents and family in Cardiff. Married to Rosanne (nee Walker) originally from Rushden, Northants, daughter of Richard Walker, originally from Leicester.Have two small children: Lloyd and Annabelle. Would be glad to hear from anyone genuinely seeking the Lord's mind and direction.
Dave Mason
Born in Peterborough, Parents Arthur & Marrion, Left "Exclusive Brethren" early sixties as a teenager. Mother, sisters Anne (Hobbs) Joyce (Jackson) and brother John still "in". Father passed away April '97 – not told until six weeks later. Would love contact with anyone who knew me or my family.

Congratulations on a very well done site.

Dear Gordon and Betty,
My wife Joyce and I have been out now for two years. I pointed out
privately to a brother how we have departed from the truth recovered in
JND's time and was shut up immediately and withdrawn from in a month.
Thank the Lord for His mercy.
We now live a much happier and fuller life for the Lord. At the moment
just seven of us breaking bread here in London but we have much
fellowship with other Christians in missionary work especially.
We now support a number of missionaries and are paying the air time for a
weekly gospel radio broadcast in West Africa. We also are involved in water treatment for the missionary/relief organization Samaritan's Purse. I was in the water treatment field years ago and am now developing equipment for third world applications.
We lost three married children still in the PB fellowship and nine
grandchildren. We have one 18 year old son still with us who is going on
happy in the Lord. My mother lives with us, in full agreement with our
position. My father is with the Lord about 9 years.
Must go. Affectionately in our Lord Jesus, Harry Lewis

Dear Gordon, Blessings, Dan Haley
John and Beryl McKillop
Hello Gordon and Betty, We are getting along fairly well, attend a good assembly, most real believers who love the Lord! We are of course starting to get along in years, but the Lord has been good. We have 6 grand children and 1 great grand child. I write briefly to acknowledge your letter, would be happy to hear from you again.
In His Name, John & Beryl Laurie Twinam
Dear Gordon, … It's encouraging to hear that you remember Single Eye and the various poems that were included. Certainly I have no objection to your
circulating the poems …
Biographical sketches are an excellent idea; it's a way of presenting the
great spiritual inheritance we have had – that younger folk today don't begin to understand …
With love in the Lord Jesus, Laurie T.
Note: This is an extract of Laurie's letter which is in the Mailbox. Tim Twinam
Dear Gordon, I guess I am one of the 'Young People' to whom you refer. Thanks – you are obviously a gentleman and a scholar!
After a long circuitous route, I now live in Vermont, USA and am married to Sallie, a busy Birthing Center R.N. I work as a freelance software
programmer, designing databases and websites. Sallie and I attend a local
Christian and Missionary Alliance church where we are both receiving love,
sound spiritual food and oodles of encouragement.
On December 13th, 1998, Sallie and I were both baptized by full immersion in a local swimming pool.
But one shining legacy that I take with me from 'Brethren Days' is the
special understanding that the Lords' Supper represented each Lords Day
morning.
Congratulations on your site – I hope the hard work and thought that has gone into it will represent but a small investment toward a wonderful reward!
Christian love, Tim Twinam Brian Cowell
Dear Gordon, I don't think I have any notes or letters now, but please ask any questions and I will try to answer them.
Yes, I would like a copy of the Catalogue you describe.
Love, Brian.
Note: See the Mailbox for further details. Harry Knappett
Dear Gordon, FDW was taken home earlier this year, I think around February.
I am not sure who else you would have known from past times, if you mention a few names maybe I can help but I haven't kept up with FDW's generation; (I was after all a boy in 1970).
With Christian love, Harry. Dean Mills
Dear Gordon, It is good to read much of what is on the web from some who I remember well.
Until later, Dean Mills Chapter Two I have read your pages with interest.
Would you be interested in securing a free catalogue of christian books from us? We specialise in the works of the so-called brethren.
Our mail address is Chapter Two, 13 Plum Lane, London SE18 3AF UK. E-mail ECross7023ATaol.com. Daniel Roberts How we have let the Lord down!
However in His mercy many have been saved as brands plucked from the burning. God in His goodness gave much to the Assembly in the 1800's with the emphasis on the Lord's coming and the Head in Heaven. This is as true now as it was then (except that His coming is even nearer!
JND stressed separation from evil was God's principle of unity. That was not in establishing a system of man's organisation here. What became of that was another system from which we are exhorted to withdraw.
Thank God that there are so many still seeking to call on the Lord out of a pure heart! Scattered, weak, yet cast on the Holy Spirit for guidance and on our Lord Jesus for strength.
Your brother in Him Daniel Soukoreff
Enjoyed your thoughtful articles, and your personal profile, overall a very good site.
Also enjoyed Daniel Robert's article on Dick W. site. Currently enjoying C. H. Macintosh, House, Champney, Walter Wilson.
Greetings to all, Your Brother in Christ, Daniel Malcolm Jackson Frankly, generally speaking, I am not enamoured with the practice of displaying the Lord's interests on a publicly accessed facility.
Having been introduced to your website, however, I am pleased to obtain from it details of the life of FER and other historical interest;
It would appear that all the prophetic utterances of JND, FER and CAC as to the eventual demise of 'Brethren' have so sadly fulfilled to such a degree that even though they said such things, if they were able to return and see the devastation, would be shocked beyond words.
One is so thankful that 'My word and My Spirit remain among you' whatever the day and
With thanks, and love in Christ, Malcolm Jackson, Charles Dunn

Gordon,
Thank you very much for your web site and comments. It echos much of our own feelings and experiences.
This is where those who were enlightened by the precious recovered truth of the last two centuries have been deceived and gone astray.
To separate from what is wrong does not fix it. It simply means I have to leave it to the Lord, but the wrong of it still belongs to me and all who love Him.
May you, and all the brethren, be encouraged to continue to serve our Lord.
Esli.

I have been browsing this site on and off over the past few weeks.
It is now 23 years since I left brethrenism, you can read my story on Dick Wyman's site.
Your biographies of Darby, Stoney, Raven, etc., were interesting as was the early days piece.
For me, realising how much greater the body of Christ was than a few EBs here and there has been exciting. To see what the Spirit has been doing in recent years thrills me … God is doing marvellous things. I just long for him to come in revival to the western world that has rejected the gospel so.
I have learnt that others to those whom I meet with are not necessarily wrong and in error, as I would have been taught in brethrenism, but may interpret certain passages of scripture or order their church life differently, not wrongly. Some things we will never know till we are in glory …
With love in our Lord Jesus, Alistair.

Note: The attachment is headed "Only an Extract - from 'The Nature and Unity of the Church of Christ'" and has the following note appended:
"The effect of this statement at that time was, countless truth searching Christians who saw this 'VISION' left their respective denominations. Therefore, we need this 'VISION' from the Lord to see His Recovery and without that, no one can come out of their own respective denomination.
"This 'VISION' was lost in 1848 due to the division among the Plymouth Brethren. This was recovered in 1921 by Brother Watchman Nee who continued where the Plymouth Brethren had left-off".
